We all want gorgeous, full lashes. It’s not a dream, it’s easy to achieve. Here’s a trick I picked up recently from celebrity makeup artist and all around good guy, CoverGirl’s Jake Bailey. He told me that when you’re applying lashes, get as close to the root as you can with the wand. Then when you brush the mascara on, brush up (vertically) not away from the lash with the wand. As you’re lifting, try to rotate the wand. The closer you get, the thicker, longer and fuller your lashes will appear. If you need extra help in getting the lashes right, place a piece of paper, like a small card, behind the lashes, so when you’re brushing or lifting the lash, the paper acts as a reinforcement.

Another trick Jake told me was to brush on mascara at an angle. Okay, this is what I mean. You know when someone’s doing your makeup and they say, “Look up,” “look down,” or “look to the left,” then they add mascara. Do this yourself. You’ll get super full lashes. You can get so good at doing this, your lashes will be so full and thick, you won’t need eyeliner.

1. Covergirl LashBlast mascara ($6.23, drugstore.com). As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best LashBlast mascara. One flick and dayum, girl!

2. Mally Ginormous Lash Secret mascara duo ($27.36, qvc.com). In an instant you have long lashes. I mean long! Washes off easily too.

3. Makeup For Ever Smoky Lash mascara ($22, sephora.com). I never knew a mascara could make me feel so decadent. I get super long, dark lashes with just a sweep of the wand.
