KISS rocker Gene Simmons, who famously declared that he would never get married, surprised the world when he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Tweed, in July’s season finale of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. The date has been set for October 1, 2011, and guess what? Now you can sneak a peek at the wedding invitation, courtesy of People!
In case you’re having trouble deciphering the fancy-schmancy script, here’s a transcript of the invite:
“Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons and Nicholas Adam Tweed Simmons
cordially invite you to the wedding of
Shannon Tweed and Gene Simmons
Saturday the first of October

although we know some Rockstar attire will be worn.

We’re kind of loving the fact that the invitation came from Shannon and Gene’s kids Sophie and Nick, who are 19 and 22 respectively. The best part, though, has to be that dig about cocktail attire vs. rockstar attire at the bottom. We’re curious what Gene himself will wear: Will he be a rockstar groom? Or will he go along with his own dress code and class it up for the night? Only a month to go before we find out!

Sophie and Nick also included an additional note with the invitation:
It’s cute, funny, and heartfelt all at the same time; we also love the little cartoon of the whole family at the very end. If you’re rock royalty and you’re planning a wedding, this is the way to do it. We don’t know about you, but we’re certainly looking forward to the main event; if this invitation is anything to go by, it’s going to be quite an evening, indeed!
