Etienne Aigner, the venerable leather goods firm has undergone a metamorphosis. The handbags that our moms carried, and we “borrowed” has been updated for our crazy, busy lives.

Their new Creative Director, Daniela Anastassio Bardazzi is a mom who gets that we need gorgeous bags with accessibility. The bags in the revamped line have smart details like side seamed pockets so you can grab your cell phone the moment it starts to ring.

The line ranges from small leather goods like wallets, iPad cases and the like ($95-$165) to bags big and small ($135 – $495). Colors range from ivory to cordovan red to yellow.

And the jewelry! What gal doesn’t like shiny pretty things? There are necklaces and bracelets inlaid with reptile skin, links galore and a collection named “Year of the Dragon.” Lots of lovely dragon accented necklaces and coordinating bracelets and earrings. Having become rather enmeshed in Game of Thrones, I immediately thought the jewelry was an hommage to the books. Mental note: get one’s head of out books every once in awhile.

The Etienne Aigner holiday collection will touch down this fall at select stores nationwide and online.
