
Joan Rivers says that she can live with Carrie Bradshaw this summer at the multiplex. In other words, she wasn’t afraid that her documentary would be competing with those other outspoken New York gals from Sex and the City 2. “I thought they should rename by documentary, Sag and the City,” says the sharp-tongued 76-year-old icon and plastic surgery queen. Her life story now comes to the big screen docu-style in a film appropriately titled, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (in theaters now).

For 14 months, camera crews tracked the legendary stand up, jewelry maker and winner of The Celebrity Apprentice– a woman who talks fast and, of course, infamously hates poker playas.
“I guess as you get older your tolerance goes further and further away,” says Rivers of why she calls it like she sees it – in her documentary and in life. “We all bullsh*t so much in life that there comes a time to tell the truth.”
