Engagement Photos! Kate Middleton and Prince William Strike a Pose
Check out the royal couple’s engagement photos, shot by fashion photographer, Mario Testino.
The photos are out! Prince William and Kate Middleton’s “official engagement portraits” were released over the weekend, and the two look perfectly happy, and perfectly airbrushed.
Mario Testino, the famed fashion photographer who took the portraits, said of the experience, “I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the whole world was waiting for. They are in their prime and brimming with happiness. I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together.”
They may be in their prime, but that doesn’t make this royal couple exempt from a little airbrushing. An insider tells the Telegraph, “The final portraits amount to a piece of art, rather like the official paintings that would have been done in previous generations, and so they were touched up a little to get them just right.”
Kate chose to do her own hair and makeup for the shoot, and picked a white Reiss belted Nanette gown for $250 from last year’s Autumn/Winter collection, which is no longer available in stores. For the close-up shot, Kate chose an off-white embroidered top from Whistles for $150, which is currently in stores, according to UK Daily Mail.
