The A-List Dallas premiers tonight, y’all – are you planning to tune in? We had the chance to watch a sneak peek of the premier episode. TRUST US -- it’s so not to be missed.
The premier episode introduces us to the cast of The A-List Dallas – a group of five gay guys…
Levi: The show's resident heartbreaker who informs us, “It’s a little different being a gay cowboy.”
Taylor: A self-defined Christian Republican who raises money for conservative candidates, says “church is my second home” and likes to name-drop George W. Bush
James: A trust fund baby who likes to drink. A lot.
Phillip: A hot black stylist to the socialites with a penchant for stirring up the drama pot and who must be the center of attention “at all times” -- no easy feat in this crowd!
Chase: A real estate mogul-type (his work is basically too “complicated to explain”) with a deep and abiding love for his hair.
…. and their token girlfriend, Ashley, a married, Barbie-like photographer with bleach-blond hair, two credit cards (one for life and one for shopping!”, and a very close relationship to God. Ashley blithely tells us, “Everyone needs a Gay in their life!”
Within the first 30 seconds, we learn everything we need to know about Dallas: “Dallas is defined by money and power;” “You have to have big hair;” and … “If you know one gay in Dallas, you know them all.”
After introducing us to the cast members, the show quickly dives in to a juicy love quadrangle and amps up the drama. There’s shopping (“How much is that necklace?” “25 thousand dollars.” “Okay!”), drinking (a LOT), rodeos, cowboys hats, hairspray (“They don’t make hairspray bottles big enough for girls like me!”), hot guys in their underwear, kissing, and, yes, praying.
It’s quite a ride and promises to get even better as the season plays out. It’s not all camp and craziness, which makes it even more compelling – the stars are real people who are dealing with some big stuff – heartbreak, religion, politics, parents who don’t accept them…
The show is already creating buzz and controversy before it even airs – one of its stars, the out and proud Gay Republican Taylor Garrett, claims to have gotten death threats after lunching with Ann Coulter for an upcoming episode. The whole premise of that episode is just mind-boggling – I truly cannot wait to see it.
Check The A-List Dallas out tonight on LOGO TV, at its special premier time of 11/10 central.
Also, don’t miss out on entering our A-List Dallas $500 giveaway!
And just remember, y’all: “The higher the hair, the closer to God.”
