Demi and Ashton, You Don't Need the Master Cleanse!

Does the couple that diets together, stay together?

-Faye Brennan

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher

According to Demi Moore’s Twitter feed, the 47-year-old and her hubby, Ashton Kutcher, are attempting the very difficult diet known as The Master Cleanse. Also known as the Lemonade Diet, this is a method of cleansing the body of toxins by drinking a mixture of fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water for about ten days – without any other food.

Most people do The Master Cleanse to drop weight in a short period of time, but Demi claims she and Ashton are doing it for their health. “This is about health!!!” she tweeted on the second day of the diet. She also tweeted that her and Ashton are doing it together because it’s too hard to do alone.

In our eyes, Demi and Ashton are the last people on earth who should be doing a cleanse – they look incredibly healthy as is! If it’s their health they’re concerned about, they might be better off just doing a fruit and vegetable diet, rather than cutting out all solid foods!

But, maybe this is the way the couple bonds – they spend their time hiking with their dogs and complaining about how hungry they are, and ten days later, they emerge skinnier and toxin-free. The whole time, they probably get to cheer each other on and share their cravings for chocolate, bread, and beer.

It’s certainly one way of keeping a relationship fresh. But, would you be willing to do such an extreme diet with your guy? Do you think without food, you’d be at each other’s throats? (Huffington Post)

Yikes! That's going to be a very crabby household for the next few days.

This is totally unnecessary. What they don't tell you is it makes you feel sick, too. If you're concerned about your health, eat fresh fruit and vegetables, as the article says.

This sounds really unhealthy. The body already has a method of ridding itself of "toxins." I'm surprised they're not doing enemas anymore, remember those "cleanses" from a few years ago?
