Colin Firth Is Up For Auction!
Ever wished you could have Colin Firth for your very own? Well, now you can- and you can help Oxfam America while you’re at it!
Do you have a thing for Colin Firth? I know I do. Maybe it has something to do with Mr. Darcy. Anyway, I have news that will cause all Colin Firth fans the world over to rejoice: He’s up for auction!
That’s right: You can win Colin Firth. Colin has teamed up with Oxfam America, a nonprofit geared towards ending poverty, hunger, and injustice, and in order to raise funding for the charity, he’s put himself up for auction on eBay. Talk about a noble cause!
Need more details? I can’t imagine why you’d need more details than “Colin Firth,” “auction,” and “charity,” but just in case, here you go: Should you win the auction, you and a friend will be chauffeured to the Hollywood premiere on December 6 of Colin’s new movie, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Once you arrive, you’ll meet up with Colin and watch the film with him (squee!); and then afterwards, you’ll be driven to the post-premiere party at the Chateau Marmont. And let’s face it: Who wouldn’t want to party with Colin Firth?
Too freaked out to bid out of fear that you’ll geek out in Colin Firth’s glorious presence? Don’t worry about it—he’s had some “OMG” moments of his own with some of his idols. He told People, “Every so often, I will meet someone who I greatly admire and get truly dumbstruck. I’m a big fan of the people in the world of music and literature. If I’m a big fan of somebody, I prefer to keep at a safe distance because I don’t know what I will do.” How charmingly British.
But hurry, because the auction ends today! You’ve got until 4pm PST/7pm EST on Wednesday, November 23 to place your bids. So head on over to eBay and get cracking!
For those of you unfamiliar with the film, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is based off of John le Carré’s classic 1974 espionage novel. Colin plays Bill Haydon, the new deputy of the British intelligence agency known as “the Circus,” though there may be more to him than at first it seems. The film also stars Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, and Benedict Cumberbatch, so you can be certain that it’ll be one helluva time. Check out the trailer here:
