Christian Bale Visits Survivors of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Shooting in Aurora
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ star Christian Bale flew to Colorado yesterday to visit the survivors of last Thursday night’s shooting. Bravo, sir.
We’re all still reeling in the aftermath of last Thursday night’s shooting at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO. But in the midst of all the tragedy, it’s heartening to hear the following story: Batman himself, Christian Bale, has risen magnificently to the occasion. After the shooting, petitions popped up all over the Internet calling for the movie’s stars to make a trip to the Aurora hospital in which many of the survivors are being treated; and Christian did just that, flying in to Colorado to visit the survivors.
Christian arrived at the Medical Center of Aurora yesterday afternoon. He spent about two and a half hours at the hospital, visiting with five patients being treated there, as well as two others who came in from the nearby Swedish Medical Center. Hospital interim president Bill Voloch told the Denver Post, “The patients were really happy to meet Bale. They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman and were really pleased to see Bale.”
