Chaz Bono isn’t contagious. But you know what he is? Engaged!

The premier of the one-hour special Being Chaz aired last night on the Oprah Winfrey Network. A follow-up to the Emmy-nominated documentary Becoming Chaz, which highlighted Chaz’s transition from female to male, Being Chaz gave viewers a look into Chaz’s life post-transition. It’s been a busy year for Chaz, what with all the drama surrounding his appearance on Dancing With The Stars and all; but he wasn’t facing it all alone. He had his girlfriend Jennifer Elia by his side, and now they’re taking their relationship to the next level.Congrats!

Chaz proposed to Jennifer on her birthday, high in the sky atop the Seattle space needle. Check out the proposal here, courtesy of People.

Our favorite moment? “Heavy s***, man” and the laughter that followed it. Best of luck to the happy couple!

On a related note, OWN followed up Being Chaz with the broadcast of the documentary special I Am Jazz: A Family in Transition. Jazz is an 11-year-old girl. She’s also a transgender child. Jazz began living as a girl when she was just a toddler, and now she’s sharing her story with the world. Said Jazz to the Advocate (via Jezebel), “I’m definitely excited to share my story, because I want to help other transgender people be true to themselves. A lot of transgender kids don’t have the support of a family like I do, and I just wanted to share that it’s OK to step out of their shadows and tell their parents how they really feel inside. So, I’m happy to tell other kids about my life and tell them that you can still be loved if you are transgender, and love yourself, too.” Remarkable, isn’t it?

Here’s to Chaz and Jazz, two people who are both unafraid to be themselves!
