Balloon

Okay. We’ve explored why women play games. We’ve given you a bunch of reasons why you should be playing Betty Games. Don’t you think it’s about time that we started sharing with you how some of these spectacular little diversions work? We thought so, too. Let’s do that, then, shall we?

If you’re anything like me, you have an inexplicable love of bubble wrap. I don’t know what it is about it, but the moment I encounter a sheet of it, I’m immediately struck by the overwhelming urge to pop each and every bubble. It’s just so satisfying!

And this, my friends, is why Balloon is my absolute favorite Betty Game. The whole point of the game, you see, is to pop balloons—something which speaks to my inner bubble wrap-popping three-year-old. The rules of the game are quite simple: Pop clusters of like-colored balloons by clicking on them. The trick is to pop them in such a way that you can get rid of every balloon, though you’ll be able to continue along to the next level as long as you leave no more than five balloons un-popped. Sometimes, little presents will fall from the balloon, hatching a brightly-colored bird that will then flit up to the nearest tree branch to cheer you on. And if you DO manage to pop each and every balloon, you’ll win a Jackpot Spin—which, you’ll recall, is a chance to win cold, hard cash! Failing that, though, you win spigos for each level you pass, so a win-win situation.

There’s a certain amount of strategy involved, so it gives your spatial relationship skills a workout—but you’ll probably be too busy giggling with manic glee at the delicious popping sounds to notice. Or maybe that’s just me. In any event, though, why not head on over to Betty Games and give Balloon a shot? Trust me. Your inner bubble wrap enthusiast will thank you.
