Behind the Scenes of Bond Flick ‘Skyfall’ With Naomie Harris + Berenice Marlohe
It’s guns and glam behind the scenes of James Bond flick Skyfall with stars Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe!
You know what we’re super excited for? The next James Bond flick. 2006’s Casino Royale completely exceeded our expectations when it rebooted the classic series, and though 2008’s follow-up, Quantum of Solace, had some issues, we still enjoyed it (it IS a Bond flick, after all!). Ever since then, though, we’ve been waiting with baited breath for the next installment of the series—and four years later, it’s finally here!
According to the film’s official synopsis, Bond 23—or Skyfall, as it’s now called—“Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” Sounds fun, right? Of course, we know all about stars Daniel Craig as Bond, Dame Judi Dench as M, and Javier Bardem as Skyfall’s villain—but how much do we know about the two new Bond girls, Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe? Not much.
But hey, guess what? Two brand new behind the scenes video blogs (or “vlogs” if you prefer—I kind of hate the word, but that’s just me) featuring these two lovely ladies have just been released! Read (and watch!) on for all the details!
First up: Naomie Harris. Even if you don’t recognize her name, you’ve probably seen her on screen before: She appeared alongside Cillian Murphy as zombie apocalypse survivor Selena in 28 Days Later and in the Pirates of the Caribbean films as sea witch Tia Dalma. In Skyfall, she plays Eve, a capable field agent who is totally badass and quite possibly Bond’s equal. Naomie introduces us to her character and walks us through some of the training she’s been doing to prepare for the film:
Meanwhile, Berenice Marlohe takes us through the press conference announcing Skyfall, the glamorous photo shoots, and the ups and downs of playing a Bond girl. The French actress plays Severine, a character we don’t know much about yet. According to Berenice, she’s got quite a dark streak in her, so perhaps she’ll be a villain. Berenice also notes, however, that there are always so many colors one can bring to a Bond girl, so it’s also possible that Severine will be sort of morally ambiguous:
Neat-o, right? We can’t wait for more details!
Skyfall is due to hit cinemas in October, 2012.
