Beauty Road Test: Simple’s Replenishing Rich Moisturizer
AKA, My new secret winter weather-fighting product!
-April Daniels Hussar, sponsored by Simple Skincare
Before I get in to writing about this product, I want to be clear about two things (ha! Get it? I’m writing about skin and I said “clear”? I kill me!). First, in my line of work, I get to try out a LOT of facial skincare products and makeup. I mean — a lot. From super high-end to super bargain-end,and there are products that I like, dislike, and love at both ends of the spectrum and all the stages in between. So I know from my skincare products.
The second thing is that I’ve been using the Simple Skincare line for a few months now, and, though they are indeed sponsoring this post, I want you, dear reader, to know that I would never put my name on something I didn’t believe and stand behind. In other words, when I say I love something, I mean it.
And — I am loving the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. It is just what you need for this nasty winter season of dry, dull skin. I have super sensitive skin, the kind that does weird things like break out in hives if I wave the wrong product too close to it, gets oily when I think it should be dry, and gets dry and patchy if I try to over-moisturize it.
Mysterious, I say! Plus, I’m at the age where I’m starting to notice those fine little lines, but I also still get a breakout now and then. FUN!
Simple’s Replenishing Rich Moisturizer feels smooth and enriching, but not too heavy. I like a face cream that goes on with a slightly luxurious feel, but then absorbs pretty quickly, but not TOO quickly or so completely that I feel like I never put it on in the first place. You know what I mean. And this one does the trick. I’ve been using it in the morning under my makeup, and I really, really like it.
It’s free of dyes and perfumes, which makes my sensitive skin happy, and it also contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and skin-loving ingredients like Glycerin, Allantoin, Bisabolol. The product also promised “12-hour moisturization” and it really does deliver — as I’m going about my day, in and out of heated buildings, cold damp weather, heated cars, heat-blasted offices, freezing school pick-up, fashion events and grocery stores, I don’t give my skin a second thought.
The bottom line — I totally recommend Simple’s Replenishing Rich Moisturizer. It feels great, makes my skin look good, and is so affordable (right now it’s $9.97 on Amazon.com!)
