You’ve probably seen the TV adverts of women screaming, “BB! BB!” Then wondered what the fuss was all about. I know I was the first time I saw the ad, I was little freaked out. Think about, women screaming, “BB” at almost the top of their lungs…it could mean a bunch of different things.
Well Bettys, “BB” stands for beauty or blemish balm and it’s worldwide craze. What does it do?It replaces a bunch of products–leaving you lots of room in your medicine cabinet. The Garnier BB BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector ($12.99, drugstore.com) moisturizes and hydrates your skin for 24 hours, evens out skin tone, brightens your complexion and has an SPF 15. The formula contains Vitamin C and has tinted mineral pigments.

It comes in two shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Deep. I tried the Light/Medium shade for a few days instead of my normal foundation. It did everything it said it would do: evened out and brightened my complexion and kept it soft too. Unfortunately the shade was just a tad too light for my fair olive skin. To make me seem not that pale, I ended up having to using a bit more blush to balance it all out.
Hopefully they’ll expand the range soon. As for now, I sometimes use it as a primer because it’s so fab at evening out my skin tone, or use it instead of a base for when I want to do the “it doesn’t look like I’m wearing makeup” day.
