Dermelect ME Resort 2013 collection

I’m lucky enough to have won the genetic lottery when it comes to my nails. They tend to grow fast, and they usually only break if I’ve been clumsy enough to jam my finger into something (which actually happens embarrassingly frequently. I’m a special individual sometimes). But sometimes even my rock-hard nails start to feel a little worn, especially in the winter when I’m constantly soaking them in hot water to warm them up my fingertips a little. Good thing that Dermelect Cosmecueticals’ gorgeous new ME Resort 2013 nail polish collection ($14 each, dermelect.com) just arrived in our mailbox!

Dermelect first debuted their ME collection of anti-aging nail lacquers in six colors this past June; now, the ME Resort 2013 collection brings the same revolutionary peptide technology to a trio of hot new shades. Influenced by the calming reflections of a tropical getaway, these hues are on-trend and versatile, going easily from day to night and back again—but even more importantly, they’re excellent for nail health. Dermelect’s polishes use ProSina, a pure protein peptide extracted for New Zealand sheep’s wool, to deliver a fast-drying, high-gloss shine while providing an unparalleled level of strength for brittle or weak nails. Does the sheep wool thing freak you out? Don’t worry—these gorgeous lacquers are totally cruelty free, as well as being DPB, toulene, and formaldehyde free, too. Everybody wins!

I tried it out in Moon Kissed, a pretty, pearlescent shade that goes with just about anything. Like most nail polishes, it’s best used in two coats: The first coat bonds instantly to your nails, while the second coat fuses with the first to create a flexible web of color that’s super resistant to chipping. It really does last for an impressively long time; I had it on for well over a week before it showed any signs of chipping. Oh, and just in case you didn’t think it was doing enough already, the polish’s healthy dose of vitamins, peptides, and moisture strengthen nails and prevent breakage. The results? Healthy nails, here we come! My nails felt better equipped to deal with the ravages of winter even after just a week with it on.

If silvery pearl colors aren’t your thing, Dermelect’s ME Resort 2013 collection also includes All the Envy, a bright metallic chartreuse, and Lust Struck, a bold coral cream. Snap ‘em up right now at dermelect.com—your nails will thank you!
