Bronze statues are usually commissioned by countries to honor dead statesmen, right? Not many people wake up one morning and think, “You know, I've gotta be immortalized in a bigass bronze statue by Tuesday.” Most people don’t... but Arnold Schwarzenegger did.

The ex-Governator recently commissioned, not one, but three bronze statues of himself. Each sucker is over 8 feet high (wishful thinking, much) and depicts Conan the First in his bodybuilding days.

According to Star Pulse, Arnold was photographed by the Wallowa County Chieftain newspaper inspecting the first statue at the TW Bronze gallery in Wallowa County, Oregon on September 7, 2011. The statues are based on a tiny 22-inch version created by artist Ralph Crawford in 1980. The first one is now ensconced in a museum in Thal, Austria. Thal is Arnold’s hometown, and that museum is dedicated to his life and work. One wonders what else is on display there. Arnold is keeping one for himself-lawn ornament perhaps? And the third is going to Columbus, Ohio to bless the competitors and audiences of the annual Arnold Classic professional bodybuilding competition.

It’s been said that one should honor oneself, but this is slightly ridiculous.
