AnnaSophia Robb Rocks Her Jammies (Maybe?) on the Set of ‘The Carrie Diaries’
Curious about The Carrie Diaries? We are too. Take a peek at these on-set pics of AnnaSophia Robb and let us know what you think!
Well, that was fast (by Hollywood standards, that is): Less than a month after AnnaSophia Robb stepped into Sarah Jessica Parker’s shoes as the one and only Carrie Bradshaw, The Carrie Diaries has already gone into production. And hey, look! Celebuzz got a hold of some set pics from the pilot!
These photos were snapped on Wednesday. AnnaSophia certainly looks the part, with her naturally straight hair transformed into Carrie’s wavy locks. But what on earth is she wearing? It looks kind of like pajamas, but I’m not totally sure. Mostly it looks like an oversized royal blue hoodie with white polka dots with a dress that looks kind of like a sweatshirt underneath. Here, take a peek:
Hmmm. She looks a little like a serial killer in that one. Here, try this one instead:
Laughter! Now that’s the stuff!
Pajamas? Not pajamas? You be the judge!
Here’s the one slightly nitpicky question I have: Why is she wearing Uggs? Candace Bushnell’s novel series takes place during the ‘80s, and if I remember correctly, Uggs weren’t quite the worldwide phenomenon then that they are now. So, either a) Carrie is even more fashion-forward than we thought (if that’s even possible), or b) They’ve updated the story slightly. I suppose it’s always possible that Carrie has a time machine, though it seems, shall we say, unlikely.
At least AnnaSophia has gotten her older counterpart’s blessing as the project goes forward. The young actress recently told Us Weekly at Tuesday’s launch of Salvatore Ferragamo’s Signorina fragrance, “She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too. She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!” Neat-o!
The cast of The Carrie Diaries also includes Stefania Owen as Carrie’s 14-year-old sister Dorrit; Katie Findlay and Ellen Wong as Carrie’s best friends, Maggie Landers and Jill Thompson; Austin Butler as Sebastian Kydd, who presumably will be Carrie’s love interest; Freema Agyeman as the budding journalist’s mentor, Larissa; Brendan Dooling as her gay pal Walt; and Chloe Bridges as Donna Ladonna, Carrie’s nemesis (because everyone’s gotta have one).
