July 23rd, 2011 will be forever remembered as a tragic Saturday. Bettys, we are sad to report that our favorite soul singer with the beehive hair and chic wardrobe, Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead in her London apartment.

An exclusive report from The Daily Mail stated that Amy was discovered unresponsive at 3:54 p.m. by emergency services. She was pronounced dead that the scene. The Metropolitan Police are treating the Back to Black singer’s death as unexplained until more evidence is uncovered.

This is such a tragic end to a promising life filled with talent and success.

As an international superstar, Amy Winehouse captured the world’s attention with her album, Back to Black. Led by the tragic ode to her life, Rehab, the album went on to be nominated for six Grammys and launched Amy onto the national music stage.

We watched as the troubled superstar battled with addiction and became secluded behind the iron gates of her London abode. She recently cancelled her European tour after a disastrous performance in Belgrade in June, but was still putting together her follow-up album to Back to Black.

Sadly, we will never get the fabulous new music we were all waiting for. Now, all we have are memories of what Amy Winehouse was and dreams of what she could have been.
