Hurricane Sandy

Is everyone on the East Coast safe? The worst of Sandy itself may be just about over, but there’s a long ways to go before we’re out of the woods. In New York, where your faithful BettyConfidential editors are located, flood waters reached record highs, 375,000 people were evacuated, millions have been left without electricity, the MTA has deemed Sandy the worst disaster they’ve ever had, and at least five deaths have been reported. We’re hanging in there, though, and we hope all of you out there in Bettyland are, too.

Of course, as long as phones were charged and the cell towers were still up, loads of New York-based celebs Tweeted their way through the storm. From Ashley Greene to Bette Midler, here’s a smattering of how they fared.

Maria Menounos:

Maria Tweeted this yesterday in anticipation of the storm; I’m sure she’s not the only one who had this plan of attack, either (I know I sure did). Since then, she’s been Tweeting photos of the storm’s effects, including the brand new river running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and the lovely people she and her crew hitchhiked with to avoid getting stranded.

Snooki:

What a doozy of a first storm. According to the Jersey Shore star’s Twitter feed, her power went out sometime around 7 o’clock last night.

Ashley Greene

Trust Alice Cullen to be super prepared for everything and anything. She IS a precog, after all.

Up next: Melissa Joan Hart and more.
