Alanis Morissette Gets Married on the Downlow

The Canadian rock star ties the knot at a hush-hush ceremony.

The woman who’s most famous for her dumped-girlfriend songs finally found a good guy—underground rapper Souleye (real name: Mario Treadway).

According to Time magazine, Alanis Morissette and Souleye got married in a publicity-free ceremony late last month at the star’s Los Angeles home.

No one outside the couple’s circle knew until more than a week after the wedding, when Alanis told her Facebook fans, “Hi guys! So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married. We're very excited to embark on this journey with each other.... “

Alanis, who was once engaged to Ryan Reynolds, now Scarlett Johansson’s husband, became wildly popular after the release of "You Oughta Know" and "Isn’t It Ironic", two acerbic songs about love gone wrong.

It’s the first marriage for both Alanis, 36, and Souleye, 30. The couple had reportedly dated for almost a year. Although he’s not widely known (actually, he’s still unsigned), Souleye’s performed at the Coachella music festival as well as the Burning Man gathering in the Nevada desert.

We don’t know much more about Souleye, although four days before the wedding, he tweeted that he was on a “vision quest” in Sequoia National Park.

We’re glad he made it back to LA for the wedding. Otherwise, he might have had a really nasty song written about him. (Time)
