ADAM’s Spring 2012 Fashion Show Had Prints! Dots! Flowers! Together!
If the samples are missing, I know where to find them…

I sat next to Lauren Wilner, HSN’s Fashion Director, during ADAM’s Spring 2012 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. As we watched the models stalk down the runway, we sighed over the outfits, periodically saying, “I want…” over and over again. There’s just something about Adam Lippe’s designs that can make intelligent women babble with longing over his clothing.
Adam boldly piled prints on top of dots on top of florals; he matched cropped, tailored, braided jackets (think marching band) with flowing bottoms; and his Audrey Hepburn-esque dotted dresses, silk capes (dotted and plain), and slim-fitting capris and skirts oozed effortless chic. I am seriously lusting after his white shorts with big, fabric-covered side buttons.

His entire collection breathed easy elegance. Adam used silk charmeuse in a pale pink to create a cropped pants ensemble that made me think of Carole Lombard’s breezy sophistication. His strapless floral column dress, simply cut and draped, will more than likely be seen on the party circuit next summer. The last dress had oodles of French knots (yes, French knots) scattered throughout.

Adam easily blended a modern sensibility with retro/classic cuts that just love a woman’s shape. Seriously, you know you’ve seen gorgeous clothing when you close your eyes and can see the entire show all over again in your head.
