Why Jen Took John Back

Sources tell BettyConfidential that John Mayer begged Jennifer Aniston to give love another try.

They say that the third time’s the charm and that’s obviously what John Mayer is hoping as far as Jennifer Aniston goes. Despite the fact that he has dumped Jennifer twice in a little over a year, the singer has convinced the Friends’ star to give him another chance.

An insider tells BettyConfidential that John, 32, groveled to Jen to take him back. “John started texting Jen again recently, and then he started calling her,” the source says.

But he didn’t have to work too hard, because despite brief flings over the summer with Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler, the 40-year-old actress has been carrying a torch for John, who broke up with her in March.

“Jen still has feelings for John,’’ says the source. ‘’Even after they broke up, she would listen to his music. And when she was in between scenes when filming, Jennifer would listen to John on her iPod.”

While the pair reportedly met up at the Four Seasons hotel in New York in September, the pal says Jen is determined to take things slowly this time around. “They are not totally back together,” the friend says. “Jen doesn’t quite trust John yet. She really wants to be in a committed relationship and she feels that John may have changed and is serious this time around, so she’s giving him a second chance. But he has to prove himself.”
