Our second favorite Betty is in a surprise race to the finish line, and she’ll have to endure major changes to get there. Not only was Ugly Betty recently cancelled by ABC, the network also cut two episodes from the season, so Betty has a lot to do before time runs out.

Get ready for some spoilers: when the show returns in March, we’ll see a few cosmetic changes in Betty.

“The braces are coming off,” Silvio Horta, Ugly Betty’s creator, told Entertainment Weekly. “There’s a big fantasy element to it. We’ll ask the question, ‘What if Betty had perfect teeth?’” But the changes aren’t just cosmetic – a new prospect “may take her away from Mode,” Horta added. “We’re going to see how that impacts the people she works with as well as her family.”

Fans can also expect an Ugly wedding – but don’t expect it to be Betty’s.

“I don’t think the right guy has come along yet for Betty,” Michael Urie (also known as Marc) said. “Besides, I don’t think [fans] would be truly satisfied if she ended up with anybody.”
