
A report in the November copy of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reveals that fasting every other day can help you drop unwanted pounds fast.
Dr. Krista A. Varady of the University of Illinois at Chicago found that those who partook in the test were able to reach for anything they wanted on their non-fasting days, while still managing to lose roughly 12 pounds after just eight weeks.
The researcher says that the next step will be determining if participants can continue with the on-off approach for a longer period of time, as a way of losing weight or staying healthy. (Fox News)
Anyone who wants to give the diet a try, she added, should meet with their doctor or a dietitian first.
