A 51-year-old man was taken into custody Wednesday after authorities had reason to believe that he was attempting to stalk his former girlfriend.
A mere few weeks ago police in Concord, California were looking into an incident in which papers were dumped over a residential neighborhood -- perhaps by a low-flying airplane.
"The leaflets referenced a specific person and contained defamatory language and racial slurs,” the police statement read. “As the investigation has progressed, it appears that the motivation behind this situation is a failed domestic relationship.”
The suspect had been slapped with a restraining order Wednesday, and was later taken to the jail in Martinez, California in lieu of $155,000 bail.
Several residents had contacted the authorities after witnessing a low-flying private plane making eight passes over the neighborhood. Upon contacting the man police officials realized that he was the same licensed pilot whom they had served with the restraining order earlier in the day.
When contacted for a comment Concord police said they were still wrapped up in the investigation. (CNN.com)
