President Barack Obama and wife Michelle’s hopes were dashed on Friday, as they learned that their efforts to land the 2016 Olympics for Chicago were unsuccessful.
Chicago was sadly eliminated during the first ballot of voting on Friday, and needless to say those who reside in the city were more than a little peeved.
A gigantic crowd had assembled in the downtown area in hopes of hearing that their hometown was chosen to host the 2016 Olympics.
“It’s unbelievable,” Janie Carter, 55, said as she stared up at the now empty stage in Daley Plaza. “Everything seemed so good for us, and everything seemed to be going our way. I don’t know. But we can still hold our heads up. We’re still here.”
The winning bid is to be announced on Friday, around the time that the Obamas will be boarding a plane back to Washington. (FOXNews.com)
