Betty on the News: Jay Leno Speaks Out on David Letterman

The comedian says Letterman "never pretended to be Mr. Moral America."

While the majority of America is up in arms over David Letterman’s sex scandal, former rival Jay Leno is not too worried about the affect it will have on the talk-show host’s reputation.

In an interview with Broadcasting & Cable Leno revealed that he “wouldn’t trade places with [Letterman] now for anything!" but that he thinks the issue will blow over soon enough.

“He's not being a hypocrite; Dave has never set himself up as [a model citizen],” Leno maintained. “If it were me, it would kill me. I'm the guy who's been married 29 years. But Dave has never pretended to be Mr. Moral America, he's never set himself up that way.” (Huffington Post)
