TMZ is reporting that the LAPD is set to present the case against Michael Jackson’s former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, to the L.A. County D.A.’s office sometime next week.

LAPD officials were waiting to hand over their case until the second week in October, since they needed to obtain several written evaluations by medical professionals who reviewed the evidence surrounding Jackson’s passing.

The Web site’s law enforcement insiders claim the medical reports are ready to go, and that Murray is still the prime target.

One source says there’s a “70/30 chance” the D.A. will transfer the case to the L.A. County Grand Jury instead of charging Murray directly.

Another insider explains that “this could be a complicated case and a lengthy preliminary hearing wouldn't have a whole lot of upside for prosecutors” and that “a grand jury indictment would be easy to get and it would avoid a prelim.”(TMZ)
