Federal officials are onto scammers who are tying to make a profit off of the public’s concern over swine flu. The FDA and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a joint-warning letter last week to websites who are marketing and selling fake Tamiflu pills. Tamiflu is only available by prescription, but several websites claim to be selling the real thing, only to dupe consumers and send aspirin instead.
The FDA also warned that swine flu masks, “protective” shampoo, and “photon” machines that claim to clean the air are also bogus as well. (Fox News)
