
In 2008 a black Labrador named Sabi went missing during a battle between militant fighters and Australian troops in Afghanistan, and wasn’t seen again until this week.
Defense officials stated that a U.S. soldier found Sabi at an isolated patrol base in Uruzgan Wednesday.

The retriever was later returned to the Australians' base in province and was photographed alongside U.S. commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who described the bomb-sniffing pup as being “a nice pooch.”
