On Friday, a new, official portrait of the First Family taken by celebrity photographer Annie Liebovitz was released, showing the Obamas sitting happily together in the White House’s Green Room.

President Obama recently told an interviewer that his family was no different than a lot of families in which men have to be “knocked across the head every once in a while” to realize how much their spouses are putting into child-rearing.

"There's no doubt that our family, like a lot of families out there, were ones in which the men are still a little obtuse about this stuff," he said, acknowledging that Michelle Obama had to make more sacrifices in the past than he did with raising their daughters, Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8.
