The last we left off in the ongoing Anna Nicole Smith death case, Smith’s lawyer-boyfriend Howard K. Stern and two of her former doctors were due in court for a hearing to determine if there was sufficient evidence to move forward with a trial. The judge must have decided there was because now we’re hearing that the three defendants will stand trial for alleged conspiracy to provide drugs to a known addict.

Although the co-defendants Dr. Khristine Eroshevich and Dr. Sandeep Kapoormay have been "blinded by the celebrity of their patient,” according to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Perry, they could be held criminally liable if their prescriptions are deemed excessive.

Witnesses at the hearing described Smith as seeming weak and zombie-like in the months after her 20-year-old son’s death. She died five months later on February 8, 2007. (CNN)
