It looks like Tiger Woods is losing both on and off the golf course.

On the heels of a disappointing fourth-place finish in the Masters golf tournament earlier this month, there’s a report that Tiger’s wife, Elin Nordegren, was furious over his big “comeback” ad for Nike, one of the athlete’s major sponsors.

"Elin was violently angry over this commercial and thought it was a cheesy thing to do," an anonymous friend told People magazine. The ad features the athlete staring expressionlessly at the camera while a voiceover from Tiger’s late father asks him, “What have you learned?” It spawned a number of internet parodies and was mocked on Saturday Night Live. (By the way, Tiger, whose infidelity scandal has linked him with more than a dozen women, doesn’t answer the question.)

"She wouldn't have gone near the Masters under any condition, but that just made her madder,” the friend said, according to People. “She is over Tiger. I wouldn't be surprised if she files for divorce sometime soon.” Despite persistent divorce rumors, there’s no evidence that Elin has filed papers.

Elin, who reportedly refused Tiger’s request that she attend the Masters to show her support, didn’t watch the tournament on TV. She was also said to be angry that he’s filed an application for the U.S. Open tournament in June in Pebble Beach, California. According to People, Elin had expected Tiger to take more time off to help their marriage recover from the scandal, which came to light last November.

At a news conference earlier this month, a reporter asked Tiger what it was like to be playing golf again.

“It feels like fun,” he said.

Now, we’d guess, not so much. (People)
