It's not bad being a reality TV star. You don't have to have any discernable talent, yet you get paid more than most people make in a year to be followed around by a couple of TV cameras and a guy swinging a boom microphone. It beats having a real job, right Jon Gosselin?

The star of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 realizes that viewers might not be as interested in his family now that he and wife Kate are getting a divorce, so he's trying hard to get a show of his own ASAP.

"Jon wants easy money now that he's gotten a taste of celebrity. He doesn't want to go back to an everyday job," says an insider. "He's out to cook up a new reality TV deal or even his own book deal. Now that they are divorcing, he has to start generating a new income that does not involve Kate."

The 32-year-old, who's been seen spending money like water in the wake of his split with frugal Kate, is concerned that he's going to end up with nothing in the divorce settlement.

"He's worried that Kate will end up with all of their money," the insider says. "Plus, he also knows that he has eight children and his money will have to support them for the next 15-plus years. Jon knows how strong-willed Kate can be and he wants to make sure that he doesn't ever have to rely on her again for his money."
