Although sources have been coming out of the woodwork lately claiming that Simon Cowell is ready to settle down with girlfriend Mezghan Hussainy, turns out it's nothing more than hearsay.

"I see it being repeated everywhere," his rep Max Clifford relayed to People. "But when I asked him last Wednesday, when he and Mezhgan were about to fly back to L.A., I said, 'Are you engaged?' His answer was, 'Max, I'm not engaged.' That was last Wednesday."

He was quick to note however that the lovebirds are still going strong and that the American Idol judge is on cloud nine.

Moreover, Clifford (who is soon to be married) believes Cowell won’t keep his lady waiting around forever.

"I said to him, 'So, there's going to be two weddings this year?'” he added. "Normally he would say, 'Don't be so ridiculous' or 'In your wildest dreams.' But he said, 'Who knows?'”

Ah hah! Sounds like Simon’s starting to crack. (People)
