Hot-headed tennis pro Serena Williams has been slapped with an $82,500 fine for screaming at a lineswoman during a semifinal match against Kim Clijsters at the U.S. Open in September.

Williams faces a “probationary period” at tennis’ four chief championships in 2010 and 2011, and if she lashes out once more at any Grand Slam tournament in that time her fine will skyrocket to $175,000.

"But if she does not have another offense in the next two years, the suspension is lifted," Grand Slam administrator Bill Babcock told The Associated Press Monday. (The New York Post)
