Recipe: Rum and Coke Chicken Wings

What's for Dinner

Ingredients:

• 5 chicken wings
• 1 tsp of sesame seed oil
• 1 tsp of vegetable oil
• 2 tbsp of soja sauce
• 3 fresh squeezed lemons
• 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce
• 2 tbsp of ketchup
• 3 oz of Bacardi Superior Rum
• 12 oz of COKE
• 70 g of sugar
• ½ piece of ginger root, grated
• 1 bunch of chives
• 3 shallots
• 2 tsp of white wine vinegar
• 1 piece of leek
• 1 bunch of fresh mint
• 1 bunch of rosemary
• 2 tsp of corn flour
• 2 tsp of red pepper flakes
• 1 bunch of thyme

Marinade:

Marinate the chicken wings in soja sauce, fresh lemon juice, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, ketchup, hoisin sauce, COCA-COLA, white vinegar, and Bacardi Superior Rum for 24 hours.

Finishing:

1. In a frying pan, cook the chicken wings with sesame oil, vegetable oil, and a pinch of sugar, until the wings are a nice golden brown color.

2. Remove the wings and reduce the marinade with sugar and potato starch. Season to taste.

Vegetables:

Julienne the leeks and shallots, then divide the leeks in half. Deep fry half of the leeks and all of the shallots. Refrigerate the leftover leeks to use as a fresh vegetable side.

Presentation:

Arrange wings on plate and garnish with fried leeks and shallots. Add chilled leeks and sauce on the side.
