A 12-year-old boy has racked up nearly $1,400 (900 GBP) in debt playing popular Facebook game FarmVille.
The application is so alluring that there is actually a FarmVille Addicts Anonymous group on the social networking site, which this young fella should join pronto.

Just prior to using his mother’s credit card to charge roughly $950 to support his habit, the boy dropped about $440 of his own money on the virtual farming game.
“The total spend is about 905 GBP, but the credits are still rolling in,” his mother told The Guardian. “Facebook and [game creator] Zynga will not refund anything as [the son] lives in my house. Facebook has disabled his account and Zynga has unhelpfully suggested I use password protection on computers in the future."
Password protection would certainly be a start! (Huffington Post)
