 John Edwards National Enquirer

Thanks to John Edwards, the National Enquirer could win a Pulitzer! The prize board has officially accepted the Enquirer’s submission of their John Edwards coverage. They were, of course, the first ones to report the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter affair scandal, their baby, and all the ensuing, expensive cover-up attempts.

The Enquirer is in the running for the Pulitzer in two categories: "Investigative Reporting" and "National News Reporting" for The National Enquirer staff.

Of course, given their track record of successful Edwards scoops … we have to wonder about the Enquirer’s latest claim that Edwards and Hunter are engaged. It’s been denied – but so was the affair, the love child, and just about everything else that turned out to be true about John Edwards. One thing is for sure – the mainstream media will not be so quick to dismiss the Enquirer’s reporting from now on. (Huffington Post)
