During his weekly radio show on Friday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg expressed his aggravation over the slow pace of the reconstructing effort at the World Trade Center.
Two skyscrapers, a transit hub and a memorial are currently underway, but the building of addition towers has been halted due to financial battles between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and site developer Larry Silverstein.
"They cannot leave a hole in the ground down where this tragedy took place and slow development for all of southern Manhattan," Bloomberg stated Friday.
In a press release Port spokesman Stephen Sigmund said the agency will continue to work on “a rational plan”, as a public bailout “is not the answer.” (Yahoo)
