More Heartbreak for Jessica Simpson

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Girl meets boy. Girl falls hard for boy. Boy dumps girl. It’s a classic tale. But in the case of Jessica Simpson it’s more like a broken record. Ever since she split with husband Nick Lachey in 2005, the singer has been looking for love in all the wrong places – and with all the wrong guys.

The latest Mr. Wrong? Gerard Butler. The pair were spotted out with Jessica’s BFF, hairdresser Ken Paves, in NYC at the end of October, but just two weeks later Gerard was reportedly swapping spit with another lovelorn blonde — Lindsay Lohan.

So what went on between Jessica and Gerard? It was all too much, too soon. After just a couple of dates Jessica got too serious and, an insider says, Gerard ran — not walked — to the nearest exit.

“Jessica has a habit of getting too needy too soon, and she scares men away,” the pal tells BettyConfidential. “She’s desperate to not be alone and every guy she's dated since Nick complains about the same thing — she’s too needy.”

While Gerard left the country and went to Morocco (where he was spotted with Lindsay), some of her exes have been more honest about telling her to back off.
