It’s no secret that Lindsay Lohan is absolutely obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. She idolizes her and may even consider herself to be a modern-day Marilyn. Delusions can sure be fun.

Let’s get serious. The two ladies don't have that much in common! At least not on the positive side.

Marilyn married Yankees great Joe DiMaggio, and later the brilliant playwright Arthur Miller.

Lindsay dated DJ Samantha Ronson and a guy she met in rehab who tried to sell nude photos of her on the web.

Marilyn sang a sultry "Happy Birthday" to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden.

Lindsay sang a whiny "What Are You Waiting For" on the soundtrack to Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.

Marilyn’s white halterneck might just be the most iconic movie dress of all time. Yes, it flew up while she was standing over a subway vent while filming The Seven Year Itch, making cinematic and photographic history.

Lindsay wears miniskirts that give the paparazzi full-view crotch shots.

Here's the difference, right away. It is not an exact mirror. For that to happen, Lohan would have to be 36 years of age, wouldn't she? Also, a perfect mirror would be John Belushi and Chris Farley as they both died of the same circumstances at both the same age of 33. Lohan is, sadly, 12 years away from being a perfect mirror...although I do see your point, trust me.

OK SO ITS NOT EXACTLY APPLES TO APPLES, BUT WE SEE THE SAME THING HAPPENING HERE. THE SAD PART OF IT IS, LINDSAY NEVER GOT TO THE TOP, THE WAY MARILYN MONROE WAS AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL. BUT IT DEFINITELY MAKES SENSE AND I REALLY ENJOYED THIS ARTICLE!

I'm a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe, but I would never try to repeat her life or try to "be" like her, the way it seems Lindsay is doing. Yes, Marilyn was an icon and she was an amazing woman in terms of how she embraced her sexuality, but she was also a very troubled girl, and that's not something Lindsay should be trying to emulate.

Why would anyone want to emulate Marilyn so closely? She was deeply troubled, though very talented. Lindsay should hide out from the public for a few years, get clean and try a comeback with a meaty role in a small film. I hope she gets help.

Lindsay's biggest problem(s) are her attention-loving parents. While her dad is making lots of noise about helping her right now, I really hope he'll step in and be the REAL parent she needs. Britney's family was able to rally around and help her; hopefully the Lohans will be able to get their act together and do the same -- before it's too late.

Marilyn definitely had one leg up on Lindsay for starters, because there hadn't really been anyone like her at the time. Also, because you didn't have the internet and 200+ TV stations with a ton of entertainment gossip shows to report on every "behind the scenes" aspect of celebs' lives, you never really knew just how miserable so many of them were. Marilyn was not a very happy person and she was not the most pleasant to work with and no matter how classic her films might be, she was a horrible actress. I don't think she was all that close to her parents either, and abused drugs, mostly prescription drugs to deal with her fame and inner demons. In those regards, the two ladies are very much alike.

I too happen think that MM was a gorgeous woman who had many personal problems. Lindsay is a beautiful girl, who seems hell bent on ruining her life. Too many differences that donn't correalte and some that do... BUT, the real issue is why Lindsay wants to destroy herself, and her career....I think she needs some serious therapy. I believe that when one needs help, they should ask for or accept it... LL definitely needs help, and her mother needs to quit riding on her coat tails and get a life. Somtimes parents are so rediculous....especially the parents of child stars.... I feel really sorry for LL.

No one can be like Marilyn Monroe. Specially Lindsay Lohan. Seems like she only wants attention with all those pictures of her Va****. Please.
