Oh, if only the Hollywood Walk of Fame had spell check! Then, maybe the typo in Julia Louis-Dreyfus' name would've been caught before it was cemented into her star on the sidewalk.
CNN Entertainment Senior Producer David Daniel was walking along Hollywood Blvd yesterday when he saw workmen cleaning Louis-Dreyfus' new star, to be unveiled later that morning. He noticed that the "O" and the hyphen in the actress's last name were missing. Snapping a picture with his Blackberry, Daniel called the rep for the Hollywood Walk of Fame to report the snafu.
"It turns out Louis-Dreyfus thought the mistake was hysterical, and wanted them to leave it," Daniels wrote in a CNN blog post. "But they'd already chiseled out the 'Luis' and put a temporary 'Louis-' in its place for the unveiling. It wasn't shiny and perfect, but at least they got her name right."

During the unveiling ceremony, The New Adventures of Old Christine star joked about her star, saying, "The misspelling was so perfectly apt, a great metaphor for show business. Right when you think you've made it, you get knocked down."
But, Louis-Dreyfus couldn't really complain -- she's the first Seinfeld cast member do get a star from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. And, they've promised to install a new, corrected star for Louis-Dreyfus, and will give the chiseled out "Luis" piece to her as a funny little memento. (Popeater, CNN)
