Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned - or a TV network that is seeing its ratings plummet. As Jon & Kate Plus 8 continues to lose viewers each week, Jon Gosselin is searching for new work, but TLC is tightening the reigns on its star and killing every deal he attempts to make.

The network is less than impressed with his recent playboy behavior and they're not only shutting him down; they're shutting him up! Over the past two weeks, they have cancelled Jon's many scheduled public appearances, preferring to use his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, as the spokesperson for their show.

"Jon is hurting the ratings of his own show and TLC is trying to keep him as quiet as possible," says a TLC insider. "They've tried to sit down and explain to him how he is negatively affecting the show and his family by acting the way he has been, but he doesn't care.

But because he is under contract to TLC, they can stop him from signing any other TV deals, including his Divorced Dads Club TV project with Lindsay Lohan's dad, Michael.

A friend of the father of eight says, "Jon is ready for his contract with TLC to end. He has very little money that is his own anymore and what he gets, he spends quickly. Jon wants to be free to seek out new deals and new work, but he is locked in for now. When the season ends, he can do whatever he wants."

The insider says 32-year-old feels like he is being treated unfairly and Jon reportedly whined to Us Weekly on Monday, "I don't even want to do taping for the show anymore."

"He is angry at everyone," the source says. "And he is still lashing out at Kate. For her part, Kate does her best to ignore every bit of it. She is focused on the children first, getting herself to feel whole again and then their business."
