Johnny Depp gave fans something to cheer about over the weekend when it was announced that he would be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp joined Tim Burton, Miley Cyrus and John Travolta at the Anaheim Convention Center on Friday for the D23 Expo, for a look at Disney’s upcoming films.

During the presentation the handsome star sailed onto the stage in a pirate ship (what else?) decked out in his Captain Jack Sparrow garb. The audience went nuts when Depp staggered around the arena, acting as if he had ingested a tad too much rum.

Dick Cook, Walt Disney Studios Chairman, happily declared that Johnny would be featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, hitting theaters in the summer of 2011.
