Although he isn’t a hot doctor, comedian Dane Cook is still quite a catch … and apparently we aren’t the only ones who feel that way.

Earlier this week Jessica Simpson strolled over to the Laugh Factory to watch her rumored ex-flame work his magic.

Simpson and a couple of pals nibbled on cheese pizza and sipped Stella Artois beer until Cook did the gentlemanly thing by sending drinks over to the singer’s table.

"After the first round of drinks, the waitress went over and said, 'This round is on Dane,'" a spy divulged. "Jessica seemed so excited. Once the show ended, Simpson was taken upstairs to the VIP area where she and Dane flirted and had another round of beers.”

The witness added that Jess and Dane partied in the VIP section after hours.

Jess could use a funny guy at the moment, especially after getting with uber gloomy Billy Corgan… (E! Online)
