Exactly one day after South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford declared that he longed to save his marriage, disgruntled wife Jenny put the final nail in the coffin by filing for divorce.

The former Wall Street vice president cited infidelity and the failure to work things out as the reasons behind the divorce complaint filed Friday.

"This came after many unsuccessful efforts at reconciliation, yet I am still dedicated to keeping the process that lies ahead peaceful for our family," Jenny Sanford said in a statement.

The complaint did not mention property, money or custody arrangements for the political couple’s sons. (Yahoo)
