I recently had the opportunity to meet Jennifer Garner at a special event announcing a typical 21st century-style promotional partnership between Frigidaire, Save the Children, and, yes Jennifer Garner, and I’ll tell you right now, I am nursing a serious girl crush on the action star/super mommy.

Imagine a super-hip loft in Manhattan, all white walls, high ceilings, and an awesome, enormous skylight framing the Empire State building. Sunlight streams in, bathing three sets of the most glorious-looking washer-dryer pairs I have ever seen (and probably will ever see again) in a late September halo. I kid you not – if you could come over and see the antique nonsense I deal with whilst doing laundry in my musty basement [insert violin music here], you would understand my awe.

But we’re not there to drool over washing machines. We’re there to see Jennifer Garner announce her latest philanthropic endeavor. Finally, the groovy background music fades, and the General Manager of Frigidaire appears, grinning from ear to ear, to announce his company’s partnership with Jennifer Garner and Save the Children’s CHANGE program (Creating Healthy, Active, and Nurturing Growing-up Environments). Jennifer takes the stage in a stunning but simple maroon sheath dress, the most killer pair of gold platform heels I have ever seen, and a smile that could melt the shoes off of Imelda Marcos.
