In order to bring back hype for that award show where everything goes wrong and awards are given out for music videos we’ve never seen – you know, the MTV VMAs – Janet Jackson will open the show with a heartfelt tribute to her brother, Michael Jackson.
The show, which will air live on Sunday, September 13 from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand. Besides Janet, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Taylor Swift are all scheduled to perform.
But the big buzz of course, is over Janet’s opening number, which reportedly boasts 20 backup dancers and a performance that will be extremely touching. “There won’t be a dry eye in the house,” says one of Janet’s dancers. (MTV)
