In the game of love, women often let men deal the cards. We demurely play hard to get, while guys play anything – or anyone – they want. It’s time to reshuffle the deck, ladies. It’s time to go after we want. It’s time… to flirt like a guy.

BettyConfidential asked real guys and relationship experts for seduction strategies that women can crib from men. Here’s their fantastic, easy-to-use advice: 

1. Assume he’s into you.
If there’s one thing guys aren’t short on, it’s overconfident delusion. This can be annoying at times (“I’m the best Skee-Ball player to walk the Earth”) but it’s a valuable commodity in the flirting field. Men gather courage by convincing themselves women will find them irresistible.

You can easily try the same trick by assuming an attitude of mutual desire. Think about how hot you look, how funny you are and how thrilled he’ll be when you catch his eye.

“Just keep in mind that the guy isn't thinking, ‘She's flirting like a guy,’” says Dr. Alex Benzer, author of The Tao of Dating: The Smart Woman's Guide to Being Absolutely Irresistible. “He's just thinking, "She's kinda into me, and she's gooood."

2. Use a wing woman.
Maryann Karinch, author of Date Decoder, recommends this tried-and-true single guy strategy.

“Use a wing man – but in this case, it’s a wing woman – to aid and abet in the catch,” she explains.

Make sure your pal knows her role and can keep your target’s buddy entertained. (Even if the buddy’s attributes include bad jokes and worse dental work.) And don’t go overboard with a posse of 12. Two smiling faces = good. A dozen drinking buddies = a fortress no man will dare attempt to approach.

3. Go to him. Then go away.
The old rules say women have to wait around for men to approach them. The new rules say there are no rules. Learn a lesson from the guy playbook and go to him.

“The one thing that makes me feel like a rock star is when a girl comes over to me,” says 30-year-old Dan from Los Angeles. “It's that simple.”

One important caveat: After you’ve established an encounter and indicted interest, find an excuse to walk away. Chances are he’ll come searching for you before the clock strikes midnight. This two-step maneuver is one men mastered years ago. Get with the program and you’ll be good to go nearly every night.
